T'was the Night before Christmas and out in the garage,
there wasn't a trace of a Ford or a Chevy
The presents all wrapped and I was well lit.
So I figured I'd mess with the SRT-10 for a bit.
I popped the release and lifted the hood,
When a voice behind me whispered " that looks DAMN good."
Well, as you can imagine, I turned mighty quick,
And there by the work bench stood good 'Ol Saint Nick!
We stood there a bit, not sure what to say,
Then he said "don't suppose you'd trade for my sleigh?"
I replied "No effin way, Santa" and started to grin,
"But if you've got the time we'll go for a spin!"
His round little face started to glow,
Turned into a smile and said "Lets roll!"
So as not to disturb all the neighbors' retreat,
We pushed the sleeping Viper quietly into the street,
Then taking our places at the top of a hill,
I started my baby, It was always a thrill!
The sound of the V-10 took him by surprise,
But he liked it a lot by the look in his eyes.
With the "twice pipes" a howlin' and headers aglow,
We headed out where serious drivers go.
And Santa's grin widened, approaching his ears,
With every shift up as I went through the gears.
Then he yelled "can't recall when I've felt so alive!"
So I backed off the gas and said "you wanna drive?"
'Ol Santa was stunned when I gave him the key,
When he walked past the headlights he shook at the knees,
Then the V-10 exploded with that muscle car sound!
Santa booted the gas, the tires smokin' the ground,
hard shift at redline, again into third,
I just sat there watchin', at loss for a word,
We passed Mustangs, `Vettes, Ricers and such,
The jolly ol' man had a street racers touch,
Then I heard him exclaim as we trounced all in sight,
"Merry Christmas to all, It's been a Helluva good Night"!!
