Thanks, I love Plum Crazy also. Just happened to be a coincidence I'd end up with three cars that same color at one time.

The best numbers from the five pulls were right around 285 hp and 310 lb-ft at the wheels, and this was with a shot torque converter and a crummy 2nd-hand Edelbrock carb that was way out of tune.
Unfortunately, it spun a rod bearing at 6,500 RPM on the fourth pull, pretty much toasting the engine. The crank and block are both salvageable, but my dad and I decided to just put the original 340 on a stand and drop in a 410 stroker crate motor. It's faster and not much more expensive to go this route. Unfortunately, I need to come up with $6-7k for the swap, and that kind of money doesn't exactly grow on trees.

Exactly... I'm a full time college student, so money's tight enough as it is... And with the economy being in the crapper, you get the drift... I got in a little over my head having three projects going on at once anyways, so I had to take a big step back and put some stuff on the back-burner. This is also part of the reason I sold the Dakota and the '63.

I get that kinda money.... over a long enough period of time.... if it weren't for those pesky BILLS I'd be ok!

Seems to be the common problem we all have.
